Healthcare professionals with expertise in physical activity, thanks to their university training, are qualified to intervene for prevention, treatment, or performance purposes.
Efforts are being made to have the expertise of kinesiologists recognized through professional regulation: we are part of the solution! Every dollar invested in prevention generates significant savings in curative care.
We collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the prevention, and effective and sustainable treatment of chronic diseases. Kinesiologists work primarily to prevent or minimize the early symptoms of chronic diseases.
For seniors, it is necessary to plan a week of rehabilitation for each day of hospitalization and it has been shown that those who followed an exercise program in the hospital designed by a kinesiologist were discharged six days earlier than the others!
We support people at all stages of their lives, both preventively and curatively, for example:
In health, kinesiologists are part of the solution.
The FKQ ensures the quality of professional practice through a rigorous system of accreditation, continuing education, and liability insurance. It also acts as the collective voice of the profession to improve the health of Quebecers, and aims to have kinesiologists recognized as the benchmark as health professionals with expertise in physical activity.
Being accredited by the Fédération des kinesiologues du Québec
Being a member of the FKQ strengthens your credibility as a healthcare professional and actively contributes to the recognition of the profession, while enhancing your skills through training and exchanges with other kinesiologists.
Furthermore, accreditation by the FKQ guarantees a commitment to providing services based on best practices and evidence-based data. This reflects a high level of professionalism and a constant focus on improvement. Accreditation allows you to be perceived as a professional with rigor and commitment to their practice.
