It is essential to supervise and monitor professional services offered to the population in physical activity in Quebec. There are several factors and circumstances that lead to a risk to the health and the integrity of individuals who engage in physical activity, whether it be a recreational activity, a sport, a fitness activity, a fitness program or rehabilitation or other types of activity.
In order to ensure a quality professional service, the Federation requires from its members a university degree, the acceptance of a code of ethics, the passing of an accreditation examination and annual continuing training. Having met all these requirements, the Federation grants a practice confirmation (membership number) to the accredited kinesiologist and then requires a number of continuing education credits to be completed each year.
In addition, to ensure the protection of the public, the Federation has set up a Complaint Handling Committee.
