An important step for the protection of the public and the kinesiology profession!
This opinion aims to assist the government in its decision concerning the advisability of perpetuating the professional supervision of kinesiologists.
Thus, the Office des professions du Québec recommends professional supervision of kinesiology to the Quebec government. In the event that the government follows up on this recommendation, a mandate would be given to the Office des professions du Québec to begin work relating to the integration of kinesiologists into the professional system and the determination of supervision arrangements.
The Quebec Kinesiologists Federation is therefore actively continuing its collaboration with the government and the Office des professions du Québec in order to advance the issue.
We hope that this framework will clarify the clinical responsibilities of kinesiologists by defining the scope of practice, activities, requirements, ethics and disciplinary mechanisms, for the benefit of the protection of the public.
