Other important ressources

In the red zone, kinesiologists can provide individualized services (consultations and training) to one client at a time or to people living under the same roof (eg: parent-child). This can be done at home, outdoors, and at indoor or outdoor sports and recreational facilities.

The activities of the training rooms (gyms) remain prohibited until further notice *.

* Details from the MSSS: In light of decrees 1039-2020 and 1145-2020, it is not the places that are closed, but the activities carried out in these places that are suspended. In this case, physical training on the devices. Thus, the owner must be allowed access to check, for example, that everything is in order in the physical training room, if only for insurance purposes. Several activities can be carried out in the same place. It should therefore be understood that although the activities of the physical training rooms are suspended, any person can access this same physical training room for non-suspended activities (eg: case of a kinesiologist in consultation, or a physiotherapist for example) or by the owner for administrative matters or product sales. The objective of the measure being to avoid the regrouping of several people in the same place, an owner could record, alone, a physical training session for broadcasting on the web, while respecting sanitary measures. This would be in keeping with the government's intention.

The kinesiologist can therefore have access to this environment to record telehealth sessions, to hold private consultations, for management, for the sale of products, etc. But he cannot train the client on devices. When the kinesiologist meets with a client in consultation, he or she may use instruments such as a kettlebell, Swiss ball, rubber band and other instruments, to assess the client or to demonstrate training exercises aimed at improving or maintaining his physical condition. The kinesiologist must continue to ensure that all the health measures in force are respected.
